The Acura 1.6 EL is exactly the same mechanicly as the civic, if you get the
civic with the 1.6L engine(I don't know what model that is but I do know
that it exists). The only difference between the too is basicly the rear
tail lights, rear trunk lid, front fenders, hood, bumper cover and the
lights. You can actually go to a Acura dealer and buy all of the parts to
turn a civic into a 1.6 EL they bolt right on. The interior might be
different( I'm not to sure what the changes are inside) but it is the same
car. If you want to save some money buy the Civic. If you want the status
of an Acura buy the 1.6EL. Either way you are getting the same car. In my
opionion the Acura looks beter, but both cars are hard to beat for Auto parts quality.
